I spoke to my supplier in the Netherlands on Friday, 8/15 and they are on track to start digging the peony roots in September which is right on time. They will then ship them over and freight them down to us from the East Coast at the end of October/beginning of November. I will email everyone with dates to pick up your roots at the Chesnut Square Market or here at the farm.

***Our Peony Root sale will start on August 15, 2025
We get our roots from our wholesale supplier over in the Netherlands. The roots are dug in late September and immediately shipped over to the warehouse in the US and then trucked to us at our flower farm. These roots are premium quality LARGE 5/8 eye - 3-4 year old plants for each cultivar except the Claire De Lune roots and they are 3/5 eye and 2-3 year old plants. *(Eyes are the pink /white buds sprouting on the roots) We usually we get blooms the first spring after fall planting but not guaranteed. You can cut the first years blooms but MAKE SURE you leave most of the leaves on plant so it can get the needed photosynthesis to get bigger and better next year.
These varieties are the cultivars that we grow here on our flower farm here in North Texas and do very well for us. Most of these varieties bloom in early to mid spring and are very productive as the plants mature.
***All Roots are Pick up only and will be available for pick up in November here at the farm by appointment or on Saturday’s at The McKinney Farmer’s Market at Chesnut Square. No Shipping is available. Once the roots are ready to be freighted from the Northeast - we will email you the pick up dates.
